During your Cataract Consultation, Dr. Kurteeva and our staff will meet with you to discuss the goals you have for your vision after surgery.

What to Expect During Your Cataract Surgery in Newport Beach, CA

Dr. Kurteeva will see you and make sure you are comfortable before your surgery.

If you have chosen to have the laser used as part of the surgery, you will be moved to the laser room before being taken into the operating room.

If you have chosen not to have the laser involved, you will be moved to the operating room.

Once you arrive in the operating room, Dr. Kurteeva will make sure you are comfortable and a local anesthesia will be administered.

The area around your eye will be cleaned and a sterile drape applied.

Most patients experience little or no discomfort during the procedure and can return to their normal activities the next day. If you have cataracts in both eyes, the second cataract surgery will be scheduled after the first eye has fully healed, usually about two weeks after the first surgery.
